Activities have been used in a wide range of settings to engage and challenge kids to find their own way of learning through practical workshops. Projects are developed with open-ended outcomes and based on gaining knowledge and understanding through discussion and interaction with each individuals approach to problem-solving being valued and shared. The specific activity is carefully researched and explored by an activity leader beforehand with an open mind to creative possibilities. The emphasis is on having fun and the basic 'kit' of essential parts for each project usually involves re-cycled materials used in entirely new and extremely effective ways. The fully-functioning models are elegant and original design solutions in their own right, being highly efficient and robust enough for adaptation and experimentation with further insights as a benefit. There are no commercial examples available to schools or parents which are able to meet this criteria at any cost.
