A sculpture hanging in the centre of the stage projects a beam of deep red light. The beam is segmented in such a way as to appear as a line of vertebrae in a spine on the body of the performer.
An audio soundscape is embedded in this light, such that when the reflection is received by the sculpture the sound is heard by the performer and theatre audience. The composition is comprised of sounds from the other sculpture and performer interactions that have taken place.
The volume can be modulated by the position and distance of the performer. A knitted soft rope which contains a retro-reflective thread is incorporated into the choreography.
This thread is passed to the audience and woven among them, they become part of the performance and actively manipulate the sound themselves as an activity of collaborative healing.
